Xàtiva (Valencia): One of the oldest and most important castles in the entire Valencia Region and even in Spain. The castle is divided into two parts, the Castillo Mayor and the Castillo Menor. Originally of Iberian origin, it was later expanded by the Romans and Muslims and became a significant stronghold during the Kingdom of Valencia era. Admission: €6.
Morella (Castellón): Morella is famous for its castle, built atop the town, making use of a steep rocky mountain. This 13th-century Islamic fortification was later modified with elements of medieval architecture. Admission: €3.5.
Peñíscola (Castellón): This Templar castle, one of the most visited in the Valencia Region, is most famous for its connection to a rebel pope. It's also one of the most photogenic fortresses, offering spectacular views of Peñíscola by the sea. The castle has even been a filming location for Game of Thrones. Admission: €5.
