Just over 100 kilometers south of Barcelona, in the province of Tarragona, is Port Aventura, the best-known and most visited theme park in Spain. The park is divided into six themed areas: Mediterránea, Polynesia, China, Mexico, Far West and Sesamo Aventura, the space designed for younger children. It's one of the best and most enjoyable excursions that families can take from Barcelona. PortAventura World also includes two other complementary parks, with independent entrance tickets: Ferrari Land and Caribe Aquatic Park.
