Discover Rincón de la Victoria

The very best
of Rincón de la Victoria

So close is this town to Malaga city that you might think it is one of its districts. However, Rincón de la Victoria – or simply Rincón, as the locals call it – belongs to the Axarquía region and has its own unique history. During the golden ages of Al Andalus, the famous cartographer and geographer Al Idrisi mentioned its two mosques. Today, it stands as one of the top family destinations on the Costa del Sol.

Rincón de la Victoria Travel Tips

CHOOSE YOUR DATES

In Costal del Sol, east of Malaga is less popular than west, but no less appealing. On the east (called Costa del Sol Oriental),  Rincón de la Victoria is the closest resort to Malaga. However, during the peak season (July and August), it is not as crowded as other destinations in the Western zone (such as Marbella, Torremolinos or Benalmádena) and still preserves part of its original spirit. It enjoys a mild average temperature throughout the year.

HOW TO GET

Rincón de la Victoria is 32 kilometers away from Malaga-Costa del Sol International Airport, with direct connections to the main Spanish and European cities. Additionally, the Malaga-María Zambrano Train Station operates fast trains to Madrid, Barcelona and other capital cities. The price of a taxi from the airport or Malaga train station to Nerja is approx € 35-25.

FROM THERE

Rincón de la Victoria is just 18 kilometers away from Malaga and within an hour and a half’s drive from Granada and the ski resort of the Sierra Nevada. From here you can explore other towns of the Axarquía (that is, Eastern Costa del Sol), with an interesting Andalusian, Mudejar and ‘Morisco’ legacy.
