A stroll in Calderería

Rating: 4,5

(81 reviews)
In the lower part of the Albaycín, the Calderería is one of the most emblematic areas. Back in the 11th century, metal craftsmen who repaired cauldrons or 'calderos' (hence the name of these streets) were concentrated here. Today it's a place full of tearooms or teterías, small Arab patisseries, craft bazaars and a handful of Halal restaurants and eateries. At times you'll think you're in a Moroccan souk.

Info & Location

City/Province: Granada

Type of Experience: Top attractions

Where: In the low Albaycín there are two pedestrian streets with similar name: Calderería Nueva and Calderería Vieja (new and old Calderería). The first one, which connects Calle Elvira with the small square of San Gregorio, is the most interesting.

Our tip: On weekends afternoons and evenings, Calderería may be crowded. If you prefer quiet and you can choose, we recommend that you opt for visiting the area in the morning or on weekdays.
