Built in 1040 on a hill dominating the town, this fortress-palace, whose name in Arabic means citadel, is one of the largest Muslim military buildings preserved in Spain and the most popular landmark in Málaga. It combines its defensive purpose with the beauty of an Arab palace. Do not miss the gardens with marvelous alleys of bougainvillea and jasmine&nbsp,or the superb view over the town and the marina.
