Alcazar of the Christian Kings

Plaza Campo Santo de los Mártires, s/n
Rating:

4,0

+ 13

From its Roman origins, the Alcazar has always been the center of power in Coroba. The emirs and caliphs of Qurtuba, Islamic Cordoba, built their Alcazar—a fortified palace—in the same area now occupied by the Christian Alcazar, though it was much larger. Today’s gardens preserve the essence of Al Andalus with plants brought from the East, such as lemon trees, orange trees, myrtles, jasmine, and wallflowers.
