Delicious ‘espeto’

What does 'espeto' mean? It refers to 6 fresh sardines, skewered and cooked over a pit of coals, seasoned with a bit of olive oil and salt. This is one of the most popular delights in the gastronomy of the entire Costa del Sol, Malaga and, of course, Marbella. When you walk by the sea you will see boats whose purpose is not to navigate, but to be filled with sand and serve as a base on which the embers are placed to grill the 'espetos'. Eat them with your fingers. Delicious!
