On a hill located in the south of Mijas Pueblo (village) you will find what was the Islamic core of the city, the fortress -hisn- of Mixa, which had an important defensive role for the population of the area&nbsp,from the 8th century until 1487.&nbsp,Today only a tower and some pieces of wall remain of that original construction, but the spot is an absolute must-visit for its spectacular panoramic views and its beautiful and fresh gardens.
