The Flowers alley & others

Calleja de las Flores, 1, 14003 Cordoba, Spain

Rating: 4.3

(4.560 reviews)
The 'azucaques' are narrow alleys, with no exit, whose main mission is to provide entrance to the houses. They are typical elements of the ancient Islamic cities. One of the most famous and photographed in Cordoba is the Calleja de las Flores (Flowers alley), for its views of the Mezquita tower and its typical Andalusian image of a whitewashed street full of hanging flower pots. Other notable and interesting 'azucaques' are the Calleja de la Hoguera and Samuel Santos Gener street, all in the area surrounding the Great Mosque.
