The Micalet & the Cathedral

Plaza de l'Almoina, s/n, 46003, Valencia, Spain

+ 14

Miguelete, Miquelet, or Micalet... We’re referring to the iconic bell tower of Valencia’s Cathedral. Climb its 207 steps to reach the terrace, where you’ll enjoy the best 360º views of the city. By the way, the cathedral was built on the site of the main mosque of Balansiya, which stood there until 1238. Before that, a Visigothic temple, and even earlier, a Roman one, occupied the spot.  The Water Court, a historic institution dating back to the Umayyad caliphate and recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, gathers at its main entrance.
